Leonel Baruch

Leonel is a member of Carao Ventures’ Board of Directors. He has vast experience in banking and economics, having given our company very valuable and insightful advice. He also has experience investing in start-ups in the United States, Latin America, and Israel.

He is the President of Corporación Financiera BCT and President of the news company CR Hoy. Additionally, he held high-level posts in the Costa Rican Ministry of Finance, eventually becoming Minister from 1998 to 2001, President of the National Stock Exchange, and the Director of the Central Bank of Costa Rica. He was also the President of the Board of Directors of TBK Investments in the United States.

Leonel earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics Sciences from the University of Costa Rica and his MBA with a specialization in banking from New York University.
